Then The Lights Go Down and All The People Gather Round
The first line-up announcement for Splendour In The Grass is out, and it is so freakin' good that my heart hurts.
Both of us are saving for overseas - but how can you save when this is the line-up:
SATURDAY JULY 22ND
Sonic Youth, Grinspoon, DJ Shadow, The Grates, Death Cab for Cutie, TV on the Radio, Augie March, The Avalanches (DJ set), Youth Group, Brittle Fex, Atmosphere and Paul Mac
SUNDAY JULY 23RD
Brian Wilson, Wolfmother, Scissor Sisters, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jose Gonzalez, Snow Patrol, You Am I, Decoder Ring, The Presets, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Zutons, Matisyahu and Clare Bowditch & Feeding Set
That's right - just some no name slobs like Sonic-freakin-youth!!! And I love love, Yeah Yeah Yeahs,Youth Group and Death Cab, Tv on the Radio, Wolfmother etc... And I would love to see if Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are worth all the hype live. And the scissor sisters are rad at a festival. And there's more to come. It's as if they are organising it just for me. Yes, that must be it...it's all for me. me. There's only like 2 bands on that list that I wouldn't be bothered about.
And there's more to come. More! So excited. Ohh - I just had that Pulp song launch itself in my head. "just 20,000 people standing in a feild"
Song for Today : Pulp - 'sorted for e's and wizz'.

Eagerly Pursuing All The Latest Fads and Trends...
...'cos he's a dedicated follower of fashion'.
Thought we'd get into the spirit as Australian fashion week starts on Wednesday - ooh that's tomorrow. The previews for Alex Perry, Nicola Finetti and Ginger and Smart are available at Aussie Vogue. If you know anything of Alex Perry and Nicola Finetti, you won't be surprised - at all. But i do like some of the Nicola Finetti.
In other parts... the new Karen Walker is great. Even though it's always in a simillar vein to the previous season, but i always like it. Even when I try to be over it because everyone has it. Anyway I think it is both rad and awesome. The little Autumn/Winter videos on her site are worth a look.
And holy monkeys....good old Alexander McQueen.
His stuff is so damn gorgeous at the moment and wearable too, that is if you can afford it or get your hands on it. But a girl can dream her deeply shallow dreams, can't she? Can and will. The picture to the right --->
is from Alexander McQueen, Milan collection 06-07. It is super and duper. The newer (march) show in Paris was a bit different, more feminine perhaps? He had these disturbingly beautiful head pieces and this crazy video of Kate Moss as some kind of ethereal floating being. Here'sa site with a round-up of all Paris Fashion week in March and loads of other fashion stories and pics.
And there are new photos from Autumn Winter Tokyo up on . Vogue Japan A highlight was Dress Camp. If you like the Japanese fashion thing .this is a good little site.
Okay, I'll stop going on now. Anyway, hopefully Australian Fashion Week goes well this year. It has to top last years debacle, doesn't it?

Beige People Are Worse Than A Sausage Caserole With Sultanas In
You know the ones who only talk about work. And start stories with "it was quite funny actually...." I can safely say that if you have to tell someone it's funny before you launch the story-telling. It ain't funny.
And I thought I was socially inept! Ever been to a dinner where one person keeps telling stories to which the only reply can be, 'oh really'?
We have. I think tumble weed actually blew by at one point. Holy beigy McBeige face.
But seriously - how bad are sultanas in a sasage caserole?
Baaaad.
